Meridian Measure

Democratising Indian startup intelligence

April 2026

Welcome back to Consortium.

Four years ago, I was new to the Indian startup and venture ecosystem and while all the information was at my disposal, it was incredibly fragmented. With paywalled reports, niche Substack newsletters, and expensive databases, I struggled to piece together a full picture.

Although over the years I have managed to curate a list of sources, train my X and LinkedIn feeds, and set notifications for venture capital/startup activity, the frustration is still real. Through the last couple of years of writing on the space at Consortium Research and countless conversations with colleagues and friends I kept hearing the same questions I had four years ago:

  1. Which authors are worth reading?

  2. Which news outlets are credible?

  3. Which industries are hot right now and who is funding them?

So, I built something!

Meridian tracks India's venture capital and startup ecosystem. Funding data, investor activity, sector trends, and curated resources - now in one place and free to access.

For everyone looking to break into VC or the startup space more broadly, this is also a practical starting point without having 50 tabs open.

A few things to note:

  1. Meridian starts with Q1 2026 data and updates every second and fourth Monday.

  2. Meridian is strictly informational and data driven, not investment advice.

  3. Data accuracy is something I will consistently strive to improve. If you find any discrepancies, please reach out or comment below.

  4. I will also periodically publish slide decks distilling key insights, so stay tuned!

If you are a student, researcher, or professional trying to make sense of the venture and startup landscape in India, I hope this saves you some of the time it took me.
